ETEP designs and manufactures the rugged acquisition and recording systems that fly on aircraft, helicopters and drones: flight-test data acquisition units, mission recorders, crash-protected recorders and their ground stations. Everything is developed in-house, electronics, FPGA, software, mechanics, and qualified in our own environmental test laboratory.
We are opening a position of electronics engineer to design, build and bring to life the hardware of our equipment. A technical role, and a relational one: you sit at the interface between customers, sales, test and production, and you see your boards through from the first feasibility study to the unit that flies.
We are looking in particular for someone at ease with analog sensor conditioning and with onboard video chains: two subjects at the heart of our next products.
What you will do
- Feasibility studies of new products and of customer configurations, from the specification to the architecture of the board.
- Schematic and board design in Altium, FPGA programmable logic in Quartus, DSP or microcontroller firmware where the board needs it.
- Analog sensor conditioning: strain gauges, thermocouples, IEPE accelerometers, LVDT, pressure; bridge excitation, anti-aliasing filtering, high-resolution conversion chains that stay exact from -40 to +71 °C.
- Onboard video chains: SDI, HDMI and IP camera acquisition, H.264 / H.265 encoding, time-stamping and synchronisation with the data on a single time base.
- Bring-up, debugging and maintenance of the hardware; test and validation of the boards; follow-up of environmental tests, DO-160, MIL-STD-810, EMC, with our in-house laboratory.
- Verification and validation of the specification before production release; change control; decisions on rework, repair, scrap or acceptance as is.
- Application of the EN 9100 quality rules and participation in the design and quality reviews.
- Ongoing watch on components and technologies, with obsolescence in mind from the first schematic.
What you bring
- An engineering degree in electronics, or the equivalent experience.
- Confirmed experience in analog and digital board design; practice of sensor conditioning or onboard video is what makes the difference here.
- Command of Altium for board design and of Quartus for FPGA programmable logic: both are required, they are the tools of the department. Knowledge of component technology and of electronic test procedures.
- An analytical and synthetic mind, the taste for teamwork and project mode, technical English.
- Curiosity for aircraft and for measurement: our boards fly, and their data is relied upon.
What you will find
- Products that fly on some of the most demanding aircraft and test programmes, and that you can follow through to the end.
- Every discipline under one roof: electronics, FPGA, software, mechanics, production, an environmental test laboratory.
- A human-scale team where a good idea becomes a product fast, and where you take real responsibilities early.
- A permanent, full-time position in Cuers, between Toulon and Hyères, with pay according to profile and experience.
