Privacy policy
Last updated: 13 July 2026
ETEP is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what your rights are — in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Data controller
The data controller is Étude Technique Électronique Professionnelle (ETEP), a French SARL with share capital of €68,603, registered at ZAC des Bousquets, 380 rue de l'Initiative, 83390 Cuers, France.
Contact: contact.us@etep.com — +33 4 94 08 50 26.
No Data Protection Officer has been appointed; for any question about your data, email contact.us@etep.com.
Data we collect
We only collect the data you provide to us:
- Software downloads — name, company / organisation, role (optional), work email and your consent.
- Contact form — name, email and the content of your message.
- Technical data — connection logs (IP address, date and time) that our host may keep for security.
- Audience measurement — with your consent, Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data (pages viewed, traffic source, device type, measurement identifiers). Google Analytics 4 does not record your full IP address.
Purposes and legal bases
- Providing software and follow-up — handling your download request and related commercial follow-up. Legal basis: your consent.
- Answering your enquiries — handling messages sent via the contact form. Legal basis: ETEP’s legitimate interest in replying.
- Audience measurement — understanding site traffic to improve it, via Google Analytics. Legal basis: your consent, collected via the cookie banner.
- We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing without your prior agreement.
Recipients and processors
Your data is intended for ETEP’s teams and is processed by our host AMEN (Agence des médias numériques), which hosts the website as well as our etep.com mailbox (delivery of emails and download links). If you consent to audience measurement, the corresponding data is processed by Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics). We never sell or rent your data to third parties.
Hosting and transfers outside the EU
The website, the downloadable files and the mailbox are all hosted in France (European Union) by AMEN, and form data (contact and download) stays within the European Union. However, if you consent to audience measurement, Google Analytics may transfer some data to the United States; such transfers are governed by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework to which Google adheres.
Retention period
Your data is kept for as long as necessary for the relevant purposes:
- Form enquiries (download, contact): 3 years from our last contact;
- Customers: for the duration of the contractual relationship, then archived in line with legal obligations;
- Invoicing records: 10 years (legal requirement).
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time.
- To exercise these rights: contact.us@etep.com.
- You may lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority (CNIL): www.cnil.fr.
Cookies
This site uses two categories of cookies and similar storage technologies:
- Strictly necessary — local storage remembers your preferences (light/dark theme and your consent choice). Exempt from consent, they are not used for any tracking.
- Audience measurement (Google Analytics 4) — set only after your explicit consent via the banner. They measure traffic (pages viewed, traffic sources, devices) and are not used for advertising.
Managing your consent
No measurement cookie is set until you click “Accept”. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page. Measurement data is kept by Google for a maximum of 14 months.
Security
ETEP implements reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.
