Data controller

The data controller is Étude Technique en Électronique Professionnelle (ETEP), a French SARL with share capital of €68,603, registered at ZAC des Bousquets, 380 rue de l'Initiative, 83390 Cuers, France.

Data we collect

We only collect the data each of our services needs:

• Software downloads — name, company / organisation, role (optional), work email and your consent.
• Contact form — name, email and the content of your message.
• ETEP news — if you tick the dedicated box on either form: your email, name and company, together with the date and the exact wording of the consent you gave.
• Technical data — connection logs (IP address, date and time) that our host may keep for security.
• Audience measurement — with your consent, Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage data (pages viewed, traffic source, device type, measurement identifiers). Google Analytics 4 does not record your full IP address.
• D.T.MUX Viewer Professional licences — only on a computer using the Professional trial or subscription: a pseudonymous identifier of the computer, calculated on the computer itself (it contains neither the computer's name, nor the user's name, nor any serial number), the software version and language, the dates and status of the trial or subscription, the activation history, the date and issue of the subscription terms accepted and, if you sign in, your email address (and your company if you provide it). For a subscription: the declaration made before payment (who the subscription is for: company, public administration, association or private individual, and whether the buyer is established in a country where it is not offered), including when it leads to a refusal; the billing country and, where applicable, whether a tax identification number was provided and the result of its verification; the identifiers Stripe assigns to the customer, the subscription and the payment; the order data that Link provides to us (name, email address, billing address, tax identification number, order details). Your recordings and their content are never transmitted; a computer that only opens ETEP recordings never contacts the licence server.

Purposes and legal bases

• Providing software and follow-up — handling your download request and related commercial follow-up. Legal basis: your consent.
• Answering your enquiries — handling messages sent via the contact form. Legal basis: ETEP's legitimate interest in replying.
• Audience measurement — understanding site traffic to improve it, via Google Analytics. Legal basis: your consent, collected via the cookie banner.
• News and commercial communications — sending you our product updates, software releases and trade-show announcements. Legal basis: your consent, collected through a box that is unticked by default, independent from the rest of the form, and which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every message.
• Managing the D.T.MUX Viewer Professional trial and subscription — starting the trial, checking entitlements, activating the subscription on a computer, sending sign-in codes, keeping proof that the terms were accepted, providing support. Legal basis: performance of the contract (subscription terms).
• Abuse prevention and licensing service security — limiting repeated attempts, one trial per computer, one subscription active on only one computer. Legal basis: ETEP's legitimate interest in protecting its service.
• We do not use your data for unsolicited marketing without your prior agreement.

Recipients and processors

Your data is intended for ETEP's teams and is processed by our host AMEN (Agence des médias numériques), which hosts the website as well as our etep.com mailbox (delivery of emails and download links). If you consent to audience measurement, the corresponding data is processed by Google Ireland Limited (Google Analytics). If you ask to receive our news, your email, name and company are passed to Intuit Mailchimp (The Rocket Science Group LLC), which hosts our mailing list and delivers those messages. We never sell or rent your data to third parties.

For D.T.MUX Viewer Professional licences, the licence server is hosted by Scaleway SAS (Iliad group), in France; sign-in codes are sent through the etep.com mail service, hosted by AMEN. Payment, invoicing, taxes, payment support and refunds are handled, on our behalf, by Sold through Link, LLC and the Stripe group companies ("Link"), which act as separate data controllers under Link's privacy policy. ETEP never receives your card details.

Hosting and transfers outside the EU

The website, the downloadable files and the mailbox are all hosted in France (European Union) by AMEN, and form data (contact and download) stays within the European Union. There are two exceptions, both subject to your agreement: audience measurement (Google Analytics) and subscribing to our news (Mailchimp), which may transfer data to the United States. Such transfers are governed by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and by the adherence of both Google and Intuit (Mailchimp) to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

The D.T.MUX Viewer Professional licence server and its database are hosted in France (European Union) by Scaleway. Sold through Link, LLC is established in the United States; the data transfers involved in payment, and their safeguards, are described in Link's privacy policy.

Retention period

Your data is kept for as long as necessary for the relevant purposes:

• Form enquiries (download, contact): 3 years from our last contact;
• News subscription: until you withdraw your consent; the proof of consent (date, form, wording agreed to) is then kept for 3 years;
• Customers: for the duration of the contractual relationship, then archived in line with legal obligations;
• Invoicing records: 10 years (legal requirement);
• D.T.MUX Viewer Professional licences: sign-in codes sent by email, 7 days; checkout sessions not completed, 30 days; notifications received from Stripe, at most 180 days, their content being erased as soon as they are processed, or at the latest 30 days after receipt if processing fails; licence history (trial starts, activations, verifications, acceptances of the subscription terms, declarations made before payment), 3 years; customer, subscription and activations, for the duration of the subscription and as long as needed to manage it, then erased on request once the subscription has ended; log of support actions, 3 years, to trace actions on entitlements;
• Licence server: the IP address of requests is used only to limit abuse; the server records it only when access to its administration interface is refused. Hosting technical logs (web server access log, which contains IP addresses) are kept 90 days.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to and port your data, and to withdraw your consent at any time.

• To exercise these rights: contact.us@etep.com.
• For a request concerning a D.T.MUX Viewer Professional licence (access, rectification, erasure), you can also write to licences@etep.com, giving the subscription's email address.
• If you ask Link to erase your data, Link ends the subscription and informs us; we then erase the subscription's email address on our side or, if it is still used by another of your ongoing subscriptions, when that subscription ends.
• You may lodge a complaint with the French data-protection authority (CNIL): www.cnil.fr.

Cookies

This site uses two categories of cookies and similar storage technologies:

• Strictly necessary — local storage remembers your preferences (light/dark theme and your consent choice). Exempt from consent, they are not used for any tracking.
• Audience measurement (Google Analytics 4) — set only after your explicit consent via the banner. They measure traffic (pages viewed, traffic sources, devices) and are not used for advertising.

Managing your consent

No measurement cookie is set until you click “Accept”. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the “Cookies” link at the bottom of every page. Measurement data is kept by Google for a maximum of 14 months.

Security

ETEP implements reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.
