Returns, repairs and calibration

A unit that needs to come back to Cuers follows one procedure, whether for a fault, a repair, a firmware update or a calibration check. It exists so that nothing gets lost between your bench and ours.

  1. Describe the case

Send us the product, its serial number, the symptom or the service you need, and the context: aircraft, installation, when it appeared. A photo of the label saves a round trip.

  2. Receive the return authorisation

We come back with a return number, the shipping address, packaging instructions and, for shipments from outside the European Union, the customs wording to use so the unit is not held at the border.

  3. Ship the unit

The return number goes on the parcel and in the paperwork. Send the unit alone unless we ask for its cables or its cartridge.

  4. Diagnosis and quotation

We inspect the unit and tell you what we found. Work outside the warranty is quoted before anything is done; nothing is repaired without your agreement.

  5. Repair, test, return

The unit is repaired or serviced, tested on our benches, and shipped back with its test report.

Calibration and periodic verification

Acquisition modules with analog inputs drift over time like any measuring instrument. Verification and calibration are done in the factory, on request, on test equipment that is itself calibrated and verified by an accredited metrology laboratory, and the unit returns with its report.

The interval is yours to set, according to your quality system and the criticality of the measurements; tell us which parameters matter and we advise on the interval and the method.

Product notices

What changes how a product is ordered, configured or operated: withdrawals, part-number changes, compatibility notes. Dated, and kept here.

Part-number coding

D.T.MUX Nano SSD cartridges: part-number coding in force since 2022

Since 2022, cartridges are coded SSD-<capacity>-<DE>-<QE>-<PD>-<CP>-N, each option present or absent.

Each field names one option: DE for AES-256 self-encryption, QE for quick erase, PD for physical destruction, CP for crash-proof housing. A field that is absent means the option is absent. SSD-32-DE-QE-N therefore reads: 32 GB, encrypted, quick erase, no physical destruction.

Cartridges ordered under the earlier references remain identified in our system. When you reorder, quote the reference printed on your existing cartridge and we confirm the matching current code before the order is placed.

What to do Check the code letter by letter against your requirement before ordering, in particular PD when a physical destruction function is required.

Withdrawn from catalogue

D.T.MUX Sentinel: the iRIPS internal battery option has not been in the catalogue since 2020

The optional iRIPS battery pack (energy code R in the part number) has not been offered on any Sentinel configuration since 2020.

iRIPS was a rechargeable lithium battery pack. The regulations that apply to shipping and operating such packs changed, and the option left the catalogue in 2020. This is a regulatory decision, not a supply or lead-time issue: the option is simply no longer offered.

Some documents still in circulation, datasheets, the part-number guide and the installation manual, still mention the option: they have not been updated on this point. Configurations carry the energy code 0. The Sentinel keeps its internal ultracapacitor, which rides through a supply transient of a few hundred milliseconds; it does not keep recording after the aircraft supply is lost.

If your installation needs an autonomous power reserve for the recorder, typically for the cockpit voice function under ED-112A, the answer is now at aircraft level: an essential bus or an aircraft back-up supply, sized with the airworthiness office. Tell us the required duration and we will help specify it.

What to do For units already fitted with an iRIPS pack, contact support before any work on the pack.

Obsolescence and life cycle

An aircraft flies for twenty years, a component lives for five to ten. What happens in between: what our conditions of sale say, what is done when a part disappears, and how units already delivered are handled.

Read the life-cycle page →

Read a reference before you order it

A D.T.MUX Nano, D.T.MUX M or SSD cartridge reference is read letter by letter, and one missing letter changes the product delivered. The decoder explains a reference field by field and flags what does not match the coding: an absent option, an unknown capacity, a housing that does not fit.

The coding it applies is the one published in the product notices above and in the current product sheets.

Manuals

Software manuals are published here, with their edition. Equipment manuals are supplied with the units and sent on request.

Equipment manuals, on request

Installation, operating and maintenance manuals are supplied with each piece of equipment and are available on request for equipped customers. They are not published openly: they describe installations that belong to our customers.

Tell us the product and the serial number and we send the current edition of the manual you need.
