D.T.MUX NetSwitch

A fully managed rugged airborne Carrier Ethernet switch delivering 8 to 24 Gigabit ports with enterprise Layer 2 switching and precise IEEE 1588v2 time synchronization.

D.T.MUX NetSwitch
Rugged Hardware / Accessories

A rugged airborne managed Carrier Ethernet switch (8 to 24 Gigabit ports) for reliable communication with 10/100/1000 devices in embedded systems. Fully managed Layer 2 with Layer-3-aware processing, IEEE 1588v2 PTP (optional Grandmaster with GPS/IRIG-B) and enterprise features.

Built around a high-performance Carrier Ethernet switch engine with an embedded 416 MHz CPU, the NetSwitch provides advanced QoS, Layer 2/3 switching and strong security features — IEEE 802.1X authentication, RADIUS, TACACS+, ACLs, IP source guard and guest VLANs — acting as a reliable networking backbone for 10/100/1000 devices inside embedded flight-test and mission systems.

Beyond simple connectivity, the NetSwitch is a fully managed Layer 2 device with Layer 3-aware packet processing and the full set of enterprise switching services. Management is available through a web GUI (HTTP/HTTPS), SSH, Telnet, SNMP and sFlow, Ethernet connections come on MIL-DTL-38999 pins or RJ45, and the 8-port version offers PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) with a 60 W total budget.

IEEE 1588 PTP time synchronization

The NetSwitch supports IEEE 1588 v1 and v2 Precision Time Protocol, with an optional PTP Grandmaster adding GPS and IRIG-B support and hardware time stamping for precise, deterministic time distribution across the network. Combined with SyncE and NTPv4 support, this makes the switch well suited to distributed data acquisition where synchronized timing is critical.

Qualified DO-160 / MIL-STD-810

Qualified to DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 for vibration, shock and acceleration, the NetSwitch operates from -40 °C to +85 °C with passive, fan-less cooling. Powered from 16-36 V DC with reverse-polarity protection, it draws about 10 W (8 ports), 15 W (16 ports) or 25 W (24 ports), plus 8 W for the Grandmaster option. All variants share a 187.5 × 138.6 mm footprint (55.1 / 71.7 / 88.3 mm high) and weigh from 1.2 to 2.7 kg depending on port count and PTP Grandmaster fit.
