D.T.MUX VSplit

An airborne video splitter that consolidates four independent 3G HD-SDI sources onto a single display, full-screen or four-way split, with only ~20 ms latency.

D.T.MUX VSplit
Rugged Hardware / Accessories

An airborne multiviewer/splitter that lets you monitor four fully independent 3G HD-SDI video sources on a single display — full-screen for one input or a 4-frame split — with re-clocking, equalization and very low (~20 ms) latency, for airborne and ground use.

Purpose-built for avionics and defense video distribution, the D.T.MUX VSplit switches one or several of its four 3G HD-SDI inputs to a single HD-SDI output. A single selected source is shown full-screen; multiple sources are combined into a four-frame split-screen mosaic. Every input is re-clocked and automatically equalized to compensate for losses in the 75 Ohm coaxial cable, so long airborne cable runs stay clean.

Multi-standard by design, the unit spans SD, HD and 3G HD-SDI (SMPTE 259M / 292M / 296M / 425M-B) up to 1080p60 and 2K DCI formats. With about 20 ms end-to-end latency, 100 ms micro power-cut ride-through and MIL-STD-810F qualification, it suits both cockpit installations and ground-based monitoring.

  • Full-screen single view or four-frame split-screen mosaic
  • Per-input re-clocking and automatic equalization of 75 Ohm coaxial cable losses
  • Multi-standard SD / HD / 3G HD-SDI (SMPTE 259M / 292M / 296M / 425M-B)
  • Handles up to 1080p60 and 2K DCI formats, 10-bit 4:2:2
  • Very low ~20 ms latency for real-time monitoring
  • 100 ms micro power-cut protection per MIL-STD-704E
  • DZUS cockpit-rack (MIL-STD-MS25212) or plate mounting

Re-clocking and automatic cable equalization

Each of the four inputs is switched to the 3G HD-SDI output after re-clocking, with automatic equalization to recover signal integrity lost across the 75 Ohm coaxial cabling typical of airborne installations. The splitter supports SMPTE 259M, 292M, 296M and 425M-B, with SDI data rates of 270 Mb/s, 1.5G and 3 Gbit/s. Video payload identification ancillary data (SMPTE 352M) is preserved through the chain.

Qualified for airborne and cockpit use

The VSplit is MIL-STD-810F qualified and installs either in a DZUS cockpit rack following MIL-STD-MS25212 or via plate mounting. It operates from a 28 V DC supply across a 16 to 36 V DC range and rides through 100 ms micro power interruptions per MIL-STD-704E, making it suitable for both airborne and ground-based operation.
